Tech Deck is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary 20 years ago I was 20 and hanging around with a group of real skateboarders. It turns out I a) either didn’t learn much from them or b) have forgotten it all over the years as when I received these fingerboards the names and descriptions meant NOTHING to me! Tech Deck are 96mm fingerboards and BMX bikes that are replicas of their full size counterparts. They even feature real graphics from the biggest names in the sports such as Primitive, Element and Plan B. We were sent 3 sets consisting of A Flip 4 pack of fingerboards, aRead More →

#win #puzzles #games #ravensburger #whatifweareapuzzle

Jigsaws and games are fab for this time of year. The dark evenings and dreary days can mean a lot more mooching about at home and a lot more cries of “I’m boooored!” – and that’s just from me (hahaha). Ravensburger are one of the best known toy companies when it comes to jigsaws and their What IF? range are a fabulous mixture of a jigsaw puzzle AND a game in that the picture you have to make isn’t actually on the box – you are given clues to solve what you should be making! Much hilarity ensues as the whole family have to setRead More →

I do love a chip but my figure does not. I am attempting to shift a bit of weight at the moment but I don’t do diets. I like to try to eat healthily and up my exercise. Unfortunately at the moment I struggle with exercise which means I can’t burn off the creme egg I might have scoffed at 9.30am so therefore I need to be more careful with what I’m putting in my mouth (if Cadbury’s go into receivership it may or may not be a direct result of my healthy eating). So without further ado I bring you the VonShef Digital AirRead More →

#alternative gifts #mothersday

In case it has escaped your notice Mother’s Day is fast approaching. As usual I have left this guide until the last minute…unless you’re reading this after 11th March 2018 in which case I’m early – you’re welcome! I decided to create a list of things other than personalised tea towels, teapots and books because, well, I don’t want tea towels, teapots or books and I’m sure I’m not alone. What I would REALLY like is a night out on the tiles and a day off to suffer a hangover in peace but that isn’t going to happen so without further ado feast your eyesRead More →

#shnooks, #series2, #candyscented

I’m very fond of these little Shnooks creatures, Big L reviewed the original Zuru Shnooks last year and since then it comes out fairly often, its fuzzy hair usually tickling Little Ls chin. Although they are appropriate for age 3 and upwards (likely due to the smaller accessories I would imagine), when you have a nearly 7-year-old and an almost 2-year-old age limits on toys tend to go out of the window, well they do in my house anyway. This time 3 turned up which resulted in much excitement! They are almost completely flat in cardboard packaging contained in a plastic “bubble” hence the tagline “fromRead More →

I recently applied to review a dehumidifier, although it actually wasn’t a DEhumidifier, it was a humidifier and by the time I realised it had been dispatched so, I learnt a valuable lesson – I should read these things prior to getting over excited and applying for everything. In any case said humidifier arrived. “What the hell am I supposed to do with this?” I asked my mum, who if you haven’t learnt from my previous posts is the font of all knowledge see here for an example. “Ahhh, actually they are very good in the winter.” “What for?” I asked, “It’s damp in the winterRead More →

As 2017 comes to a close I have two items left to review so basically that is what this post is. A hastily cobbled together review of a cocktail set and 2018 diary. In all honesty I would have done them before but you know, they arrived just before Christmas plus I’ve been half-cut from the all the cocktails so they’ve only got themselves to blame. The Vonshef Parisian Cocktail Set Monsieur Incidental was working as a waiter in a cocktail bar just before I met him (if you don’t get that reference shame on you) and he’s always hinted at wanting a cocktail setRead More →

#grotto

We have a tradition in our house of only going to one Santa’s Grotto a year and that is at Coolings, a local garden centre. We’ve been to the same one each year since Big L was 6 months old so this year will be his seventh visit. We’re booked to go again on Sunday in fact. However, last weekend Vince’s parents came over for a pre-Christmas visit and our one Grotto rule was broken. We made the mistake of introducing them to Bluewater a couple of years ago and they love it. I don’t think I’ve ever met people that can shop quite likeRead More →

Let me set the scene. You’ve made the most amazing home cooked, three course meal, all locally sourced organic food. You paired it perfectly with wine, hell you even made the dessert and didn’t buy it from Marks & Spencer. The company is fantastic, you are the hostess with the mostess. You tell witty anecdotes of the time you were a croupier on a cruise ship and the celebrities you worked with. Then dinner ends, what to do? Out comes The Game of Things. This is not your usual run of the mill after dinner game, it’s no charades, oh no – it’s much more thanRead More →

Christmas is just round the corner and stocking filler ideas are firmly on the agenda.  Kids are easy to buy for if you have money to burn but most of us don’t so the fab people over at Addo have sent me three things to review that won’t break the bank. Plus I think they would make fab stocking fillers: First up is Nikelodeon Liquid Lava Putty Big L loooves this, it comes in different formulas such as glow in the dark and colour changing. He has two colour changing ones, blue to purple and orange to yellow. This stuff is fab and mysterious! ItRead More →
