Christmas is just round the corner and stocking filler ideas are firmly on the agenda. Kids are easy to buy for if you have money to burn but most of us don’t so the fab people over at Addo have sent me three things to review that won’t break the bank. Plus I think they would make fab stocking fillers:
First up is Nikelodeon Liquid Lava Putty
Big L loooves this, it comes in different formulas such as glow in the dark and colour changing. He has two colour changing ones, blue to purple and orange to yellow. This stuff is fab and mysterious! It changes consistency, it stretches but it also snaps and bounces. Think Silly Putty from your youth and add in a bit more excitement. A word of caution though – keep it in the tin when it’s not being played with. I was daft, I didn’t read the instructions and Big L left his on my dressing table one night and the following morning I found it had melted all over the floor onto a jumper. My mistake for not reading the instructions though – it clearly states it should be kept in it’s tin.
Big L took his tin into school and was the envy of the playground – it seems all the cool kids love Liquid Lava Putty (but his teacher not so much!). This is for ages 3 and up and we keep it firmly out of Little L’s reach. It retails at £5 per tub
We were also sent a Wiggle Jiggle Pet – this was my favourite. I’m a sucker for a squirrel and we were lucky enough to receive one. It doesn’t come with batteries and is a bit of a faff to put one in (aren’t they all) but it really brought a smile to my face with it’s little wiggly tail dashing about across the floor. This is also suitable for three years and upwards but Little L, who is currently 20 months, had great fun chasing it around (supervised). These are so popular they’ve currently sold out! But fear not Pitter Patter Pets are a close alternative and are retail from £5 for the hamster.
Big L usually has all the fun when it comes to reviewing toys so Addo kindly sent Little L an Amazing Aqua Playmat. Big L had another (more expensive) version of this when he was younger but this one is just as good. It comes with a pen that you fill with water and parts of the mat have rainbow colours on it whereas Big L’s mat was just blue. Little L wasted no time in
scribbling over drawing on the mat. He really is a bit of a one when it comes to drawing – I can see I’m going to have to keep an eye on him and my nice cream walls! I really like this mat as it means he can be artistic without risk of ruining the house. The Amazing Aqua Playmat retails at £15 but is currently half price at £7.50 – an absolute bargain and a lot cheaper than the leading brand.
I was really pleased with all three products. I think it’s great that Addo have kept the quality of the products but managed to keep the prices down. They are all available to buy at the Entertainer (when they’re not so popular that they are out of stock!)
The three products were sent to me for the purposes of this review but all the opinions are my own – as always
