*This Gift Guide contains items sent to me for freeeee
Last year I did a Mother’s Day gift guide for alternative gifts (check it out here).
I was really chuffed with the things on it, things I’d never thought of and some I’d never even heard of – axe throwing?! This year is almost as quirky. Almost….
Keeping it local (to me anyway) are these super gifts from Produced in Kent
Romney Marsh holds fond memories of a Summer holiday spent with my mum and grandparents so I was very happy to include this gift set from Romney Wool RRP £20
I also love chocolate (a little too much some might say) so these chocolate covered caramels went down a treat. They are really yummy! I’m not really a caramel lover but these are soft and have a hint of almond. Just gorgeous! RRP £6.50
I really loved creating this Book of Mum for my mum
There are several books in the series and they all have different parts that can be personalised. I can’t wait to give it to her (which will probably be as soon as she reads this). The books are available from The Book of Everyone, this particular version was £25.99.
What Mother’s Day would be complete without a bottle of perfume?
The Marc Jacobs Summertime fragrance is perfect for warm summer evenings. It’s quite a sweet scent which I like but is easily wearable both day and night. Prices start at £57 and it is available from The Perfume Shop
Something for the active mum, or one who likes comfortable shoes are these Walkmaxx shoes from JML
Shoes might not spring to mind for Mother’s Day but these trainers are specially designed for comfort. They have been designed to fit all widths comfortably. These are also said to improve posture and help you get fitter as you walk with the specially designed sole – certainly worth trying!
Our school run is a mile each way so my shoes need to be comfortable – these tick all the boxes.
For the ethically minded these socks from Critically Endangered Socks are lush
The super soft and comfy socks made from a beautifully soft and sustainable blend of bamboo and cotton. The socks, which come in five designs and two sizes, and retail at £12 a pair. A portion of the sale of each pair of socks supports a charity too. Happy days!
Every mum should have “posh”leggings like these from Love Leggings
I know I do! You know, the ones we save for best. Please tell me I’m not the only one who does that?
I opted for a pair of high waisted leggings which are super comfy and go up to a size 28. There is a huge range of colours to choose from, black, purple, yellow, green – something for everyone. They are made from 95% cotton and 5% elastane so they hold their shape well too.
For the music-loving mum on Mother’s Day how about a pair of earphones from Libratone
These wireless earphones are fab for runners or anyone who prefers wireless headphones. They are certainly a decent bit of kit at £169. Well worth it to drown out the sound of squabbling if you ask me!
How about the new Yankee Candle Sunday Brunch Collection?
The candles look lovely and as always smell fabulous. Mum will be sure to be over the moon with it! The smell travels through the whole house.
Mother’s Day wouldn’t be complete without a bunch of flowers like these from Blossoming Gifts
I’ve used Blossoming Gifts many times and have always received compliments from the recipients but this is the first time I have received any myself. They are gorgeous! I will certainly continue to use them as my go-to online florist.
I hope you have enjoyed my rundown of Mother’s Day gift ideas – what else would you like to see on there?
