This is a collaborative post
Every now and then, you might need to send a gift to somebody that’s a little far away. Maybe you’re unable to make it to a birthday party, perhaps your friend is spending their birthday overseas, or maybe there’s a special occasion coming up that you completely forgot to plan around. Buying a gift for someone over the internet might seem a little lazy, but there are times where it’s the only option available to us.
So in this post, we’re going to take a look at some great gift ideas for when you’re a little too far to hand your recipient their present in person.

Why not send some flowers?
If it’s a celebration for something and not necessarily a situation that warrants a large or expensive gift, then flowers can be a fantastic choice. It’s surprisingly easy to send flowers abroad and you don’t really need to do much yourself. You just go to a website, choose the types of flowers or even bouquets that are available, then you just click order and send them to your recipient’s address.
Of course, this does mean that you’re going to need their address which can be a little strange to ask for if you’re not that familiar with them. However, this can be a wonderful option if you’re looking to send something small yet meaningful.
Consider a subscription to a service
These days, more and more people are using subscription services for entertainment and even education. For example, a great gift for kids is to get them a subscription to a gift box or sweets box. These come every month or week depending on the frequency you’ve chosen, and each box can come gift-wrapped and will contain loads of unique items. It takes a lot of stress out of picking a gift and it can be a surprise even for you!
The other subscription option is actually to digital services. For example, you could purchase a month or two of a service like Netflix or Spotify and give it to someone that you know could make use of it. You can even buy subscriptions for gaming services if you know a friend that loves video games.
Buying a digital gift instead of a physical one
You also have the option of purchasing a digital gift. This isn’t going to appeal to everyone but for the people that do like the idea of it, buying something digital can be a brilliant alternative to physical gifts.
Some examples of a digital gift include music, gift cards, video games, audiobooks, and even a cameo appearance from your recipient’s favourite celebrity. There are so many unique options for digital gifts and we’re starting to see more and more cool stuff being offered over the internet. Just make sure you check that your recipient will actually like the gift before you invest money into it! Digital gifts are a little unusual, so it’s a good idea to check if they can even make use of it or will enjoy it.Follow me on social media for more!
