As 2017 comes to a close I have two items left to review so basically that is what this post is. A hastily cobbled together review of a cocktail set and 2018 diary. In all honesty I would have done them before but you know, they arrived just before Christmas plus I’ve been half-cut from the all the cocktails so they’ve only got themselves to blame.
The Vonshef Parisian Cocktail Set
Monsieur Incidental was working as a waiter in a cocktail bar just before I met him (if you don’t get that reference shame on you) and he’s always hinted at wanting a cocktail set so he can show me what he’s capable of (drinkswise) and basically get me pissed.
The set arrived on Friday before Christmas and is in a very nice presentation box. It is copper covered stainless steel – it’s worth mentioning that it cannot be washed in a dishwasher so if you are a lazy fecker like me it does need to be hand-washed to maintain it. Inside the box was everything you need to get started – apart from booze, mixers, ice and garnish. I had a quick read of the recipe book included and added a couple of items to my Tesco delivery that was due the following day.
Saturday evening we put the kids to bed and Monsieur Incidental made me a cosmopolitan – my favourite! It was so good that after one I could not feel my legs. It has since become a nightly ritual that once the kids are asleep I have a cosmo and Monsieur Incidental has a Moscow Mule – our ongoing joke is “careful, it’s got a bit of a kick”. We are, quite frankly, hilarious.
If you would like to buy one of these (and I would recommend you do if like me you are a fan of cocktails and enjoy that familiar “dead leg” feeling) they are available to buy for £39.99 on Amazon here. They would make a great gift for the man that wishes he was Tom Cruise in Cocktail.
Ryman 2018 day a page diary
Also just before Christmas I received a diary to review. I haven’t used a diary for a very long time (since Big L was born in fact) and it is high time I got myself in order. It’s a good quality diary with an elastic to keep it closed. It’s a good size being A5, however it is fairly weighty so I don’t think it’s one for my handbag. I am impressed with the contents. It has a year planner for both 2018 and 2019, the usual notable dates, phases of the moon (always handy so you know if your other half is due to turn into a werewolf) and a big plus – an accounts section. This will come in very handy for me if I ever make any money. The only downside is that it is pink, and I am not really a pink girl but I can’t hold that against it.
Now I have this diary I have no excuse to forget where I’m supposed to be – I jest of course, I don’t do anything but Big L is starting to have a social life. Plus should I become some kind of super blogger I can write all my deadlines in it (I can only dream).
