Years ago a friend of mine moved from daaan saaaf to Liverpool
She worked in a bar at the docks and had a whale of a time – as twenty-somethings do when living miles from home. Often spotting Hollyoaks stars it was the place to go for weekends. I didn’t really think of it as a place for families at the time. I had no reason to, not having children of my own. I was more concerned with bars and clubs.
More recently my best friend has been talking about relocating from London to Liverpool with her wife. I was surprised at first. I couldn’t imagine what Liverpool could hold for them that London doesn’t. And why Liverpool out of all the cities in the country? Why not Manchester or Leeds?
She explained that, first and foremost, the house prices
For the price of a two bedroom apartment where they live now they can buy a four bedroom family house in Liverpool – crazy!
Apart from that Liverpool was the City of Culture again in 2018. The arts features heavily in Liverpool. There are all sorts of museums, from the Tate to the World Museum Liverpool. This is just one of the reasons why they want to move there.
There is also a very lively music scene in Liverpool
Come on – The Beatles?! Who wouldn’t want to visit the Cavern Club? There are obviously exhibitions dedicated to the Fab Four – The Beatles Story which is at the Royal Albert Dock. There are other exhibitions dotted around the city too. While there you could check out a gig or two.
If sport is more your thing then Liverpool is the place to go!
From football to horse racing and much in between. Why not visit Anfield while there or take in a race at Aintree?
If you are travelling as a family you HAVE to visit Mattel Play. Situated at the Royal Albert Docks this interactive playground boasts zones – Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder and Thomas and Friends. Something to keep the little ones entertained.
After all your adventures in the city you’ll need to rest and eat. Liverpool One has a boundless number of hotels and restaurants to suit every pocket and every taste.
