Father’s Day is fast approaching so I have compiled a handy gift guide for every type of dad…and mum – because some dad’s are a bit crap and mum deserves the credit!
*All items were sent to me free of charge for the purposes of this guide
For the geek or retro lover: Playmobil Ghostbusters 35th Anniversary figure collection
Playmobil Ghostbusters 35th Anniversary Figure Collection
I’m not even going to pretend these are for anyone but me but Monsieur Incidental is happy with them so happy days!
I can vividly remember going to see Ghostbusters as a child (and being scared stiff) so these Ghostbuster Playmobil figures are right up my retro street. Released to mark the 35th Anniversary of the iconic film there is also a Playmobil Firehouse and Ecto-1 to choose from. This set retails at £19.99 and are available from Playmobil
For the image conscious: Brisk grooming products
Brisk Grooming Products, Beard and face wash, moisturiser beard balms and oils
This set smells gorgeous and I am assured does the job it is supposed to! It is powered by malt extract and there is a duo of each product to include “matching” face wash and moisturiser. This year they have also introduced a new citrus beard and face wash to compliment the citrus range.
I was particularly pleased to read that they are not tested on animals.
The range is available from Morrisons, Boots and Waitrose (check stores for product range) Prices start at £3.50 which makes it at the more affordable end.
For the adventurous dad
Consider a men’s pirate costume, which retails for $65.90 and is available at Medieval Collectibles. This costume is perfect for some fun role-playing or themed events, adding a touch of adventure to any dad’s wardrobe.
For the clean shaven: Wilkinson Sword Razors and Groomers
Wilkinson Sword Hydro Razors and Groomers
Disposable razors should be a thing of the past. I for one can testify that the Wilkinson Sword reusable razors are very good as I use them myself!
The Wilkinson SwordHydro 5 Sense razor has shock absorb technology (I must try this one on my legs!) and has a RRP of £12. It is available from supermarkets and also Amazon (affiliate link)
The Wilkinson Sword Hydro Groomer is the only 4-in-1 groomer curently on the market as it trims shaves and edges from head to….toe (let’s say no more about that). Available from supermarkets and chemists and also Amazon (affiliate link)
For the traveller who likes to smile: Colgate Pro Clinical toothbrush
Colgate Pro Clinical Toothbrush
This little toothbrush is equally as good for every day use as it is for travelling. It is compact and has a nifty cover to keep it clean in your overnight bag. It has a 2 pin bathroom charger that is also small in size and won’t take up too much room in your luggage. It has a RRP of £49.99 but I found it on Amazon for less here (affiliate link)
For the foodie: Beautifully Handcrafted Thai Coconut Bowls
Hand Crafted Thai Coconut Bowls
These are beautiful and great for the environment as they are made from reclaimed coconut shells and so each one is totally unique.
They add an extra special touch to your thai curry as you can see from the photos (not my photos, I wish I was that professional) – or even your cereal in the morning!
These are available as a set of either two or four, and come complete with spoons. Available from Amazon via this affiliate link
Personal Alarm
Not all Father’s – or Mother’s – Day gifts have to be something that’s nice to have. Instead, you might need to get some practical gifts. At some point, these could be items that make their lives a little safer and easier. A GPS personal alarm can be recommended if your parents are in their later years.
These let you make sure they’re safe and sound, no matter where you – or they – are. It’ll provide a little extra comfort to everyone if your parents start needing a bit of extra help. While it mightn’t be the shiniest of Father’s Day gift ideas, it can be a practical one.
For the car enthusiast / practical parent: Ring Digital Tyre Inflator
Ring Rapid Digital Tyre Inflator
I bloody love a gadget, and anything that means I don’t have to get on my hands and knees in public is fine by me! Yes, I’m talking about inflating my car tyres at the garage – honestly! This nifty device plugs into your car cigarette lighter, you pop in the pressure you require and it does it all for you. What’s not to love?
The unit has an RRP of £49.99 and is available from Amazon (affiliate link)
Father’s Day Cards for Dad and Grandad from Danilo
Father’s Day Cards from Danio – Only Fools and Horses, Blues Brothers, Back to the Future and more
I know a few Dads who would be over the moon with one of these cards! If Only Fools and Horses is not their thing then they are sure to like The Blues Brothers or Back to the Future!
Available directly from Danilo with free first class delivery or from card shops and supermarkets they are priced between £1.50 and £3 so they won’t break the bank either
Father’s Day cards for Dad and Mum from Love Layla
I love Love Layla, I’m particularly keen on their Father’s Day cards for mum – I’ll be giving one to my mum as my dad was a “useless twat”. So, if you have a certain sense of humour like I do you will be overjoyed to see the humorous filth they have on offer.
All cards are £3.75 with free UK delivery and are available directly from Love Layla
