I’m really pleased to be featuring gifts from the RSPB When I was little we used to go to our local nature reserve. My mum and I would get up early, take a packed lunch and spend the whole day there. I have fond memories of sitting in hides watching birds through binoculars. Now I have children of my own I like to encourage them to spend time outdoors. I also want them to have a healthy respect for nature. This is why I’m excited to bring you this gift guide of things I chose for my family: RSPB Children’s Binoculars I chose these asRead More →

It’s Christmas!! I know, I know It’s only October but the John Lewis Christmas Shop opened a couple of weeks ago in Oxford Street, London A friend and I were going up for an event in the evening so we thought we would make an afternoon of it and went up early to have a look around. She had seen the John Lewis Christmas Shop on This Morning that week and, being a huge Christmas lover (like me) wanted to check it out. We weren’t disappointed. The Christmas Shop is located on the third floor of the John Lewis Oxford Street store, London. We headedRead More →

As 2017 comes to a close I have two items left to review so basically that is what this post is. A hastily cobbled together review of a cocktail set and 2018 diary. In all honesty I would have done them before but you know, they arrived just before Christmas plus I’ve been half-cut from the all the cocktails so they’ve only got themselves to blame. The Vonshef Parisian Cocktail Set Monsieur Incidental was working as a waiter in a cocktail bar just before I met him (if you don’t get that reference shame on you) and he’s always hinted at wanting a cocktail setRead More →

Hi! My name’s Erica and I effing love Christmas. I do, I reeeaaaaally do. I’m one of those weird people that likes giving presents (but hates wrapping them). I just love it. It gives me a nice, warm, fuzzy feeling inside, I get excited at the prospect of people enjoying their gift. In fact I love Christmas so much that I set up a Facebook group for fellow Crimbo lovers with my friend Anna (HERE since you asked). Why do I love it so? Well, it’s hard to pin it down. I’m not a Christian, or religious in any sense really so it’s not aboutRead More →

#grotto

We have a tradition in our house of only going to one Santa’s Grotto a year and that is at Coolings, a local garden centre. We’ve been to the same one each year since Big L was 6 months old so this year will be his seventh visit. We’re booked to go again on Sunday in fact. However, last weekend Vince’s parents came over for a pre-Christmas visit and our one Grotto rule was broken. We made the mistake of introducing them to Bluewater a couple of years ago and they love it. I don’t think I’ve ever met people that can shop quite likeRead More →

Let me set the scene. You’ve made the most amazing home cooked, three course meal, all locally sourced organic food. You paired it perfectly with wine, hell you even made the dessert and didn’t buy it from Marks & Spencer. The company is fantastic, you are the hostess with the mostess. You tell witty anecdotes of the time you were a croupier on a cruise ship and the celebrities you worked with. Then dinner ends, what to do? Out comes The Game of Things. This is not your usual run of the mill after dinner game, it’s no charades, oh no – it’s much more thanRead More →

Christmas is just round the corner and stocking filler ideas are firmly on the agenda.  Kids are easy to buy for if you have money to burn but most of us don’t so the fab people over at Addo have sent me three things to review that won’t break the bank. Plus I think they would make fab stocking fillers: First up is Nikelodeon Liquid Lava Putty Big L loooves this, it comes in different formulas such as glow in the dark and colour changing. He has two colour changing ones, blue to purple and orange to yellow. This stuff is fab and mysterious! ItRead More →
