Cool back to school looks for all ages with Very [AD]

The summer holidays seem to have flown by this year, at least for me. Thankfully Very are on hand for all your cool back to school looks for all ages…

You would be forgiven for not realizing that Very stock a full range of school uniform for all ages, Primary and Secondary. I know I had no idea, but that probably doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone! They even offer plus size school uniform which is not always easy to come by. I have been able to kit out both the L’s with a full uniform, minus the school blazer for Big L’s secondary school and school ties, obvs.

Primary school uniform from Very

I have been pleasantly surprised with the primary school uniform offered by Very. I ordered everything in an age 7 or 7 to 8 and it is all lovely quality. 

First of all the shirts are a nice fit and have Velcro instead of a top button which makes life much easier for little fingers, the shirts are available in a pack of 3 from £9.

The jumpers are super soft and Little L approved. I have already washed them as we don’t like the smell of new clothes in this house, and they washed well. The school jumpers come in packs of 2 from £12

I chose shorts for the return to school for Little L. September is usually still pretty warm and you can get away with wearing shorts for longer as they don’t become ankle swingers. The shorts have an adjustable waist and are sold in packs of 2 starting at £9  

Primary school shoes from Very 

There is a huge range of boys school shoes available from Very. I have to be honest we always go for big name brands for school shoes, you can get away with cheaper uniform like trousers and shirts but we’ve found out the hard way that cheaper shoes just don’t last the distance – if you pardon the pun!

These are from Start Rite and I am assured by Little L that they are super comfy and cool. They are available in half sizes and several widths RRP £50 they are currently on sale for £37.50 

Rucksacks for Primary School

I have found 7 is a funny age for some boys, they seem to be outgrowing the character rucksacks so I chose this classic backpack from Vans. It’s nice and simple without too many pockets to lose bits in. It’s also machine washable which makes life easier when the lunch box inevitably leaks! RRP £42 currently on sale for £33.60

Secondary school uniform from Very 

Luckily for me Big L’s school is relaxed about where the uniform is purchased. So many secondary schools require a particular brand which is costly and unfair in my humble opinion. The school shirts fit Big L like a dream, he likes short sleeves as he has to wear a blazer all day and long sleeves get caught up, and are too hot. These short sleeved shirts come in a pack of 3 and start at £9

The jumpers are the same as, but larger than, Little L’s. They also washed well and feel really snuggly. Big L doesn’t usually need a jumper for school but they are handy for the colder months where a blazer isn’t quite warm enough.

The trousers are a nice, quite light weight material, which Big L liked. They also have an amount of elastic for an adjustable waist as well as pockets for ALL THE THINGS.

Secondary School shoes from Very

It’s not always easy to find older boys school shoes with hook and loop fastening, especially not cool ones. Clarks have just released a collaboration with Raheem Sterling which automatically makes them that much cooler. The older boys shoes have a more grown up look about them, as well as the football print on the inside and bottom of the shoe. The Raheem Sterling Goal Style  school shoes are available up to a size 8 in 2 widths starting at £54

Secondary approved rucksacks from Very

Superdry has long been a very cool brand which is why I chose this Superdry backpack for Big L. I love all the zip pockets and it has separate internal compartments too. The best bit is that the straps have a buckle fastening across the front so it won’t slip off.

I have really enjoyed putting this together, I didn’t realize Very had so many back to school products!
