This is a collaboration with Micro Scooters – we were sent the scooters for the purpose of this post
Both my kids need help with balance, their gross as well as their fine motor skills are somewhat lacking. Micro Scooters are a fab, fun way to help children with both while getting some exercise at the same time!
We were set the Maxi Micro Deluxe Pro Scooter – I chose this one as it has chunkier wheels and chopper style handlebars. The thicker wheels help with stability and my two, bless their cottons, need all the help they can get! For safety we were also sent two helmets, these are really snazzy and have flashing LED lights in the back!
About the Maxi Micro Deluxe Pro Scooter
The Maxi Micro Deluxe Pro Scooter is for children aged 5 to 12 years or 110cm to 152cm – it has an easily adjustable handlebar height and has a max rider weight of 50kg – which meant I couldn’t have a go (booo) but is a good range for kids. The scooter itself weighs 2.9kg.
As I said above it has chunkier wheels to aid balance.
The front of the scooter – chunky wheels!
To make taking it out and about easy the handlebar is removable, which is handy if you don’t have a huge boot or want to take it away.
It is a lean-to-steer design which can take some getting used to if you’re used to a moving handlebars however this aids balance.
There are several colours available, we chose black/red but there is also pink, green and aqua to choose from.
The RRP is £129.95 – they are currently on offer.

About the Children’s Micro Helmets
Apart from being a necessity for safety purposes, the helmets are really cool. They are adjustable at the back to ensure a snug fit, as well as under the chin. They have Fidlock clasp technology for pinch free opening and closing, this is really easy and clips using magnets.
The Micro Helmets start at RRP £27.95

This summer holidays I decided the time was right to get the kids using their Maxi Micro Scooters
We’re not a sporty family and, for one reason or another, they’ve not learned to use a scooter. With school runs hopefully returning to a bit of normality from September I’m hoping a scooter will encourage the kids to walk (or rather scoot) home. This will mean I can take the dog on the school run and get some much needed exercise myself.
So, there you go! Micro Scooters do more than just get you from A to B
They also help with your gross and fine motor skills which in turn helps with all sorts of skills including balance and hand writing.
