Saturday morning we were “up and at ’em” bright and early so we could be at Showcase Cinemas, Bluewater for 10am as we had been invited to watch Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups
Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups is the latest feature length episode from the daring pups, Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye, Zuma, Rocky, Everest and of course honorary pup, Ryder. We were very lucky to see it a week before general release on 17th May.
When we arrived we were greeted by none other than Marshall and Rubble. Big L, who is seven and a little past Paw Patrol now, was very good taking his very excited little Brother to see them.
We then went through to the De Lux lounge area (the film was shown in the XPlus cinema) where there were big Paw Patrol balloons – trying to keep the kids off of these was no mean feat I can tell you – along with activity sheets, colouring in and so on.
We popped out to the foyer and got ourselves a huge popcorn and drinks an on our way back bumped into another two Paw Patrol pups!
The adults in the party have already had the XPlus cinema experience with reclining seats. I saw Aquaman and we both went to see Alita for Valentines Day, both films at Bluewater. But this was all new to the kids. I was surprised that they were very good and didn’t mess about with the buttons and we were able to relax and watch the film. To be honest it will be difficult to sit in ordinary seats now!
The film sees Adventure Bay being put at risk by that pesky Mayor Humdinger from Foggy Bottom and his nasty nephew Harold
It features the Paw Patrol pups being given super powers by a meteor. However, not only do they obtain super powers but so does Harold Humdinger. It’s a charming film that kept both children entertained and there was minimal fidgeting from both children and adults for the duration.
The film itself was an hour long with two Nick Jr features afterwards, Top Wings and Butterbean Cafe.
When we left Chase, Rubble, Skye and Marshall were all there to say goodbye – Little L had to give them all a cuddle!
The Showcase Cinema de Lux at Bluewater is our cinema of choice for comfort, especially with reclining seats and there is no restricted view if someone tall sits in front. The XPlus screen is fab, especially for action movies.
General prices for Showacse Cinema de Lux are:
Although prices for the XPlus screen are a bit more – but well worth it for the seats alone in my opinion.
There are 21 Showcase Cinemas nationally
