When I was little we used to go to our local nature reserve. My mum and I would get up early, take a packed lunch and spend the whole day there. I have fond memories of sitting in hides watching birds through binoculars.

Hogilo Hedgehog House
We spotted a hedgehog in our garden last year and have seen evidence of him or her again this year. I was keen to encourage them to stay so this seemed like a great idea. Hedgehog numbers have been declining in recent years and they need all the help they can get.
Here is the house in our garden. We have since covered it in twigs and leaves for extra shelter. Who knows we may have a prickly friend in there already! Like many of us, as a family we are trying to cut down on our waste. We didn’t realise how often we would buy a take-away coffee. So I chose this for Monsieur Incidental as he will pick up a coffee on his way to work.
