In an effort to support local businesses I thought I would compile a few ideas of Father’s Day gift ideas from Sevenoaks, and slightly further afield in Kent
This list has not been sponsored and I have not received anything whatsoever in return for compiling it – I’m just bloody lovely. However if any of them fancy giving me a freebie I would not be adverse to the idea….
First up…drum roll please….
Westerham Brewery, Beggars Hall Lane, Biggin Hill, Nr Sevenoaks, Kent

Westerham Brewery – Spitfire Van
Westerham brew their own beer and you can take a look around the brewery and sample the delights. I am assured the pale ale is pretty bloody lovely.
What can you get for Dad? Well, you can either buy him some booze to give him on the day, they also do memorabilia like caps and so on, or you could take him down for a tour. At the weekend they have pop up food stalls so you could treat dad to something to eat while you are there.

Mount Vineyard, Shoreham, Nr Sevenoaks, Kent

I’d be pleased with one of those vouchers – hint, hint
If beer isn’t Dads thing then maybe wine is?
I’ve yet to visit Mount Vineyard but it is on my to do list and I will certainly leave the car behind and catch the train. I am literally three stops away – I have no excuse!
Open Thursdays to Sundays 12-6pm all year round. You can book tastings and reserve tables for sharing boards and pizzas (pizza and wine, my two favourite things). You can also buy vouchers so Dad can treat himself! And of course you can buy bottles of wine to take home.
For Father’s Day itself Mount Vineyard are treating Dad to a free beer if dining in – check out their website for more details here
Brands Hatch, West Kingsdown, Nr Sevenoaks, Kent
Some Dads aren’t into food or drink (I have no idea why) but they do love cars and bikes so look no further than Brands Hatch.
Back in the day I was a regular at Superbikes – I still have my Ducati jacket! On Father’s Day itself there is British Superbikes. If bikes and crowds aren’t Dads thing then you could get extra brownie points by treating him to a driving experience.

National Trust Properties, all over Kent

Ightham Mote, Nr Sevenoaks
If Dad is a history buff or just the outdoorsy type you could do worse than take him to a National Trust property for Father’s Day. You could even buy him membership if you are so inclined. We use ours A LOT!
In Kent, and even further afield, we have SO MANY National Trust properties to choose from. Particular favourites of ours are Ightham Mote, Emmetts, Chartwell, Knole and Scotney Castle.

Sunrise Balloon Flight, Tunbridge Wells, Kent
I would LOVE to do this. Imagine bobbing over Tunbridge Wells, champagne in hand, watching the sun come up. Bliss! Possibly a bit romantic to do with Dad, I dunno, maybe treat him and Mum or take the father of your children?

Lost Sheep Coffee, Kent based micro-roastery

Lost Sheep Nespresso Compatible Pods
If coffee is Dads thing and you want to keep it local, green and fair trade then Lost Sheep Coffee is the place to go!
Lost Sheep Coffee is an independently owned company based in Whitstable. They are the first company to produce completely compostable Nespresso compatible cartridges.
What’s even better is that they know the family that grow the coffee so they can ensure they receive more than 5 times that they would through third party distributors.
