With Valentine’s day fast approaching…(gifted/ad)
People’s thoughts turn to romance, booking tables at restaurants (be quick they go fast) and present buying. This year I have put together a list of some fab items that were gifted to me free of charge for this review.
Carnival Love Light – let your love shine on Valentine’s Day
We’ve had this light in our living room for a couple of weeks now. It goes on every evening as it gets dark and we love it. I didn’t think it would be to Monsieur Incidental’s taste but he likes it too. It runs on batteries which is really handy as you can put it anywhere.
The Carnival Love light was from Findmeagift.co.uk
Yankee Candle
Who doesn’t love a scented candle? (Shh you at the back!) I like scented things but Monsieur Incidental is a bit of a fussy bugger so we have candles. This is “One Together” which is Yankee Candles “2019 Scent of the year”.
At the heart of the scent is Miracle Flower – I’ve never heard of it before, but it’s lovely. It is a subtle scent that’s not too overpowering, we light it in the dining room and it wafts up the stairs giving the whole house a lovely fragrance.
One Together is available from Yankee Candle
Massage Oil/Gel from Brodie & Stone
These Anma massage gels are awesome. First of all they are vegan and cruelty free, which is very important to me and they have a 100% Post Consumer Recyclable bottle and a Biobased label made from sugar cane ethanol.
What is more romantic than giving your loved one an ethical massage on Valentine’s Day? Just don’t get carried away – eh.
The massage oils are available from Superdrug
The Ned wine – perfect for Valentine’s Day evening
If, like us, you are staying in on Valentine’s Day you’ll no doubt be having a bottle of wine (or two, maybe three – I won’t judge). I usually like a medium/dry white (hello Gavi, I’m looking at you) but I enjoyed The Ned rose, which is the sister wine to their sauvignon blanc (I must try that one too).
The wine is blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, from the Waihopai Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand, which gives it its gentle blush colour, and a creamy, dreamy texture (I didn’t write that, I have no knowledge of such things).
The Ned Pinot Rose is available from Majestic and Ocado
Last but not least
Engraved Silver Valentine’s Day Marmite Lid
What do you get the person you love who has everything? A silver engraved Marmite lid of course! I am a lover of Marmite, especially so being a veggie – I use it in everything. This was an early gift for Monsieur Incidental and he was over the moon with it!
The engraved silver Marmite lid is available in a variety of options from Engravers Guild
- Marmite with a silver lid from Engravers Guild
- Valentine’s message – I love you even more than Marmite (insert name)
I hope my selection of gift ideas give you some food for thought – which do you like best? What would you add?
