Finding Childcare with Childcare.co.uk – a Review

AD – This is a sponsored article

“Can anyone recommend a babysitter/childminder/nanny?” This must be one of the most common questions on local Facebook groups. One of the most regular answers is Childcare.co.uk!

A friend of mine is a childminder and whenever this question comes up she always recommends Childcare.co.uk so they must be good – she is a stickler for these things.

I’m lucky in that I am able to work from home and fit the majority of that work around my children. I rely heavily on my mum for childcare at the moment, but there is always a time when other sources come in handy. Regular readers will know that I suffer from Crohn’s disease and attend regular medical appointments and treatment and occasionally my mum isn’t able to look after my children. This is where Childcare.co.uk comes in.

What does Childcare.co.uk offer

Childcare.co.uk helps find all sorts of childcare providers. From nannies, childminders and au pairs, to nurseries, childminders, babysitters and even private tutors!

How does childcare.co.uk work?

Childcare.co.uk is available online and via an app on either Apple or Android.

There are two ways to search for childcare, using the simple search you input the type of childcare you are seeking in the box, and your postcode along with the distance from your postcode and it automatically selects the providers within that area. This is super handy as you can select providers within a specific distance from the postcode of your choice. For instance you can input your child’s school or nursery so you can find someone who is in walking distance to pick them up.

The advanced search enables you to select providers that fit your specific criteria, such as qualifications and certificates held and any specialisms required (such as experience with special needs) as well as their availability on certain days.

Pressing “search now!” brings up a list of the people or companies that fit your requirements. The childcare providers have the option to include a photo of themselves, along with a short biography and their hourly rate. It also tells you their distance from your selected postcode. From here you can read the rest of their profile which includes reviews from previous clients.

I found that within about half an hour I had a few messages from local childcare providers which was much quicker than I expected.
