Do you remember the heady days of working in an office?
You’d get up early, shower and get ready for the day ahead. If you were lucky you would be able to walk to work, the majority though would have to commute in some form or other. Packed together on commuter trains or stuck in traffic, getting to and from an office added stress and time to your day that was often wasted. Now, however, things have changed. Thanks to the last couple of years (and a certain pandemic that we won’t mention) a lot of us now benefit from being able to work from home.
I don’t know about you but I for one am grateful that many companies have continued letting their staff work from home. Not only does it save time and money but it also benefits the environment. Even if it is not working from home full time, the odd day here or there can make a big difference, especially to family life. If we have something to do early evening Monsieur Incidental is able to work from home so we can go straight out when he finishes at 5pm. Or, if I want to go out for the day then he can work from home to look after our dog or pick up the children from school.
However, working from home has meant we physically move less
Now we sit at our dining table or in our home office we don’t have to actually physically get to work. We don’t even need to get dressed if we don’t want to! But this means that we are walking less, even moving less. We don’t have to walk to the car, train station or office. No flights of stairs, no walking around the office to talk to colleagues or get a coffee or use the photocopier. Unless you set time throughout the day to do some exercise you can become complacent.
This is where the Yo-Yo Desk Bike comes in!

The Yo-Yo Desk Bike can help you keep active, even while working!
A combination of desk and exercise bike the Yo-Yo Desk Bike has been created to keep you active even while you are sat working!
Imagine being on a video call and being able to peddle away while talking to colleagues, that’s exactly what you can do with the Yo-Yo Desk bike. And, thanks to the SilentMotion technology, no one would be any the wiser, unless you go red or get a bit puffed out!
The Yo-Yo Desk Bike has a fair few features:
8 resistance levels
Which you can tailor to your individual needs. If you are on a video call you are likely to want to have a more sedate peddle than if you are writing emails!
A clear activity tracker
You can keep track of your progress on the LCD screen situated on the frame of the bike. You can toggle between distance, RPM, calories and time. It’s always nice to see how you’re doing or you can set yourself challenges. You’d be surprised how far you’ve peddled while typing out an email or during that phone conversation!
A comfortable, adjustable seat
One of the things I first thought of when using a bike while sitting at a desk was “surely the saddle is uncomfortable” however this is not the case. The saddle is plenty wide enough (even for the more robust among us) and I found it comfortable to sit on for long periods of time. The height is also easily adjusted using a lever under the seat, you can even do it while seated.
A large yet compact desk
The desk is 51 x 58cm so big enough for a laptop, you don’t need to worry about where you will put your drink as there is a special holder for this. The desk top also moves up and down as well as backwards and forwards so you can find your optimum position for comfort. This is particularly useful as you can adjust it depending on the task in hand, for instance if you are on a video call you can move it up so your camera and screen are higher than if you are typing where you need it lower.
It is easily manoeuvrable
The bike has four wheels which rotate 360 degrees enabling you to wheel the bike into position. You can tuck it against the wall while not in use and get it out again without any fuss.
The bike suits a wide range of individuals
The bike is suitable for people from 5 feet tall to 6 foot three. The weight limit is 1335kg (approx 21 stone). My six year old os too small for it, however my ten year old can use it comfortably.
