Dragon Ball Toys for the 2020s – a review by Monsieur Incidental

Monsieur Incidental here, long time no see! When Erica mentioned the fact that she was getting Dragon Ball figurines to review, I had to get some of them.

I’m a big fan of Dragon Ball, which is a legendary anime/manga franchise created by Japanese Akira Toriyama, who also designed the Dragon Quest franchise (now on Netflix woo!) among countless others (Dr Slump, Go go Ackman, yes I can go on by the way).

Dragon Ball initially started way back in the late 80s/early 90s

And has been rebooted a few times since then. I will let you do your own research on the overall storyline and different protagonists and villains, as believe me there is plenty to cover in the series, it has been going on for more or less 30 years at this point…The latest incarnation is called Dragon Ball Super, and suffice to say Goku and his friends have plenty of ultra-powerful opponents to face yet again.

And now, courtesy of the lovely people at Bandai we received those high quality figurines from a brand new range that’s available in the UK for the first time.

First we have the Dragon Ball Limit Breaker figurines

dragon ball, limit breaker, collectables, toys, anime, manga

We received Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta which is an excellent pick ! They stand tall at 30cm, have five points of articulation and look really good! They have a RRP of £14.99 which is pretty good value for the amount of toy you get available from Smyths Toys here and Amazon via this affiliate link

Dragon Ball Dragon Stars

We received Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta & Krillin. These are pretty cool as well, and they have at least 17 points of articulation so will be able to be posed in more than 9,000 positions. Yes it’s over 9,000! Vegeta would be proud (if you know, you know). These stand at 17cm tall and have a RRP of £19.99 also available from Smyths Toys here and Amazon via this affiliate link

Dragon Ball Super Collectable Figures – Blind Bags

dragon ball, limit breaker, collectables, toys, anime, manga

We also received two blind bags of the 5cm Super Collectable figures, there are 10 figures to collect including quite a few characters from Resurrection F. These are suitable for a slightly older 6 and above and have an RRP of £2.99 available from Smyths Toys here or you can buy a whole box of 24 from Amazon here:

In conclusion those new figurines are a blast to play with, and will suit young and old fans of the series.

Krillin managed to stay alive during the entire article and photo shoot so good for him really, we don’t need to get Shenron involved
