Playmobil has long been a favourite toy in our family. Myself & Monsieur Incidental played with it as children and now our own children love it.
We aren’t short of Playmobil in our house either, we have a school, some of the Ghostbusters range, the contents of an advent calendar from a few years ago (that comes out at Christmas, there is an angel and Father Christmas along with some really small animals that are really super cute), a play park and a zoo. So, as you can see, we are big fans of Playmobil.
Playmobil Novelmore Range
The Playmobil Novelmore range includes all sorts of characters, creatures (animals and mythical beasts), vehicles, buildings and weapons and prices start at just £2.50 for an individual figure. The piece de resistance is the Grand Castle of Novelmore which you can actually put together with Burnham Raiders Fortress to make an even more expansive building. Extensions for the buildings are also available.
What is Playmobil Novelmore?
The legendary world of knights, sorcerers and villains.
An ancient prophecy is about to be fulfilled.
Can you help save Novelmore?
Novelmore is Playmobil’s answer to dungeons and dragons or King Arthur and Merlin. There is also a fun Novelmore YouTube series (click to view) which my two boys (and us grown ups) enjoy.
For children, and adults, who love myths and legends then Novelmore will be right up your street.
Novelmore Burnham Raiders Fortress
The fortress is fabulous. Everything you could want from a medieval style fortress. There is a dragon in a cage. There are catapults, trapdoors, walls that break, a horse, a man with a wooden leg and an eye patch – what more could you want? The attention the detail is just amazing.
The entrance to Burnham Raiders Fortress

The entrance to Playmobil Burnham Raiders Fortress
Lifting the fire emblem showers the people underneath with flaming rocks as you can see:

Lift the emblem to shower your enemies with hot rocks
Around the corner from the entrance is a door that is drawn up by ropes from above:
Lift the door to Burnham Raiders Castle to reveal the raiders inside:
A horse with flames for its mane and tail and a pretty angry looking fellow!
This bit of wall looks a bit suspicious…
What (or who) could lurk behind there?!
If the raid looks like it is getting out of hand maybe it’s time to release the dragon?!
Who’s hiding in there while all the action is going on?
Hiding in the throne room or guarding the treasure?
Ready, aim, FIRE!
Push the weapon into the catapult, press the button and it shoots across the room.
What do we think of Playmobil Novelmore Burnham Raiders Fortress?
Honestly, it’s great! I wish I had had something like this when I was younger. I love the trap doors, secret walls, things that lift and flip to reveal bits and bobs. It has kept me amused for hours… The kids love it too. Little L is only 4 and he is thrilled with it. It really encourages imaginative play, you can turn this into a fun learning experience. You can learn about real life knights and the myths and legends that surround them.
