SuperZings Series 3 – Collectibles, Rivals of Kaboom Playsets and Blind Bags – Review

We were sent the toys for this review – all opinions and photos are my own. Contains affiliate links where I can earn a couple of pence for orders placed but they never cost you more. It never happens, take pity on me!

What are SuperZings? You may well ask! I have to be honest I had to Google it myself… SuperZings are collectible, everyday characters some are heroes, others are villains.

If your kids watch Nick Jr then you are likely to have seen these advertised. SuperZings series 3 characters include a lemon, corn on the cob and a juice box (or carton to us Brits).  What separates SuperZings from the rest of the collectable is that they each have a “Rival”. The rival to the lemon is a can, the corn on the cobs rival is butter and so on. Some are pretty funny, others are somewhat tenuous but what do I know?

We were sent three play sets to review and a whole bunch of blind bags which I have been trying to save to give to Little L daily, but he keeps appearing with more and more.

As pocket money toys go these aren’t bad. They are 80p each and there are LOADS (more than 90 as it stands) to collect. As usual there are rare ones – we didn’t get any – boohoo! Little L’s favourite was the birthday cake:

Now on to the SuperZings Play Sets, All available from The Entertainer www.thetoyshop.com and Amazon

SuperZings Adventure 3 Power Tower Assault Play Set

SuperZings Power Tower Assault

SuperZings Adventure 3 Power Tower Assault

The SuperZings Adventure 3 Power Tower Assault Play Set comes with two exclusive SuperZings figures

This is good fun, one of the figures is a SuperSlider. There are 12 SuperSlider characters to collect – they have wheels so they zoom along. There is a ramp available which you get in blister packs but there is a cool ramp contained in this play set.

You can aim the ramp at the Tower and the aim is to get the character in the Flap. The prisoner is kept in the cell below.

SuperZings Hero Truck Monster Roller

The SuperZings Monster Roller play set also comes with 2 exclusive SuperZings characters.

This is great fun as the truck picks up the characters as it rolls over them, collecting them inside and spitting them out of the back. There is also a canon that fires – although I haven’t seen the missile since day one. These things always go astray until one of us steps on them. Little L has great fun with this. It is less fiddly than some of the sets and due to that is easier on little hands.

SuperZings Kazoom Lab Professor K Vs Enigma

SuperZings

SuperZings Kazoom Lab Professor K Vs Enigma

This set has LOADS of moving parts and things to do. The idea being that Enigma is trying to get the Kazoom Energy back from the evil Professor K who has it in his lab.

SuperZings Kazoom Lab – Professor K Vs Enigma. All set up

Enigma has a Aeronigma that has pincers on the front, Professor K has a giant Robo K which has missile hands (keep an eye on these they fly quite far and you’ll be hunting high and low for them). There are traps and all sorts and Little L plays with this set a fair bit.

What did we think of SuperZings Series 3 collectables and play sets

Despite being aimed at age 4 and above, Little L (aged 3) is thoroughly enjoying playing with them. He and Big L play with them together, acting out scenarios and taking it in turns to be the baddies.

They are a great way of making use of collectable figures and I can see them being fun for a good while. They would make fab stocking fillers as they range in price from 80p to £40
