  1. Mykonos, Greece

If you’d love nothing more than a beach holiday, then why not pay a visit to the Greek island of Mykonos? The pristine sand, clear blue waters and beautiful warm weather will work wonders on your mood and mindset, and there are plenty of opportunities for relaxation.

If you can bear to drag yourself away from the coastline, you’ll find there’s lots to see as you explore the charming cobbled streets. Admire the architecture of the clean white buildings and browse the unique gifts available at the shops you’ll discover along the way.

Hungry? There are lots of eateries where you can enjoy traditional, freshly made Greek cuisine, and luckily feta cheese and Greek yogurt are both safe to eat during pregnancy — just make sure the yogurt is made with pasteurized milk.

As the day winds down, make your way back down to the beach to take in the picturesque sunset.

Don’t forget: Your skin will be more sensitive, so remember to pack SPF for your face and body, and reapply every two hours (more frequently if you swim in the sea or pool). SPF 30 will offer the best protection.

  1. The Lake District, UK

For those who’d love nothing more than a countryside bolthole, the Lake District offers everything you could possibly want. There’s a beautiful view everywhere you turn, with forests, fells (a.k.a. mountains) and the famous lakes dominating the landscape.

Of course, if you’d rather stay snuggled up inside you can enjoy the view from the window, and cosy up by a roaring fire with a good book instead. Come dinner time, the best pubs and inns in the Lake District offer delicious, locally sourced food, and are full of history and character.

  1. Nice, France

If experiencing a different culture is on your to-do list, then why not try a city break? Located on the Mediterranean coast of France, Nice is close to the airport, so transfer time is minimal — perfect for the pregnant traveller.

Take your time as you stroll around the art galleries and museums, and make sure you stop at the monastery, the Monastère de Cimiez, which is worth a visit for the stunning gardens alone. Head to the Parc de la Colline du Chȃteau for a view which overlooks the entire city (there’s a lift to the top, which goes a long way towards improving the pregnant traveller’s experience).

The wonderful thing about Nice is that you get all the fun of the city, but you’re close to the beach and the fresh sea air. You’ll feel relaxed and content after walking along the tree-lined seafront promenade, the Promenade des Anglais, and there are lots of little outdoor cafés where you can stop for refreshments along the way.

  1. Limassol, Cyprus

Limassol is an up-and-coming holiday destination, so make your way there before the rest of the world finds out. As a city, it’s an intriguing blend of the old and new. The modern, sophisticated marina and the historical centre, complete with museums and a castle, are both highlights.

It’s not a babymoon without some indulgence though, so head to the spa at the Londa hotel for a specially designed pregnancy massage — the ultimate pampering treat before your little one arrives. The benefits of pregnancy massage include soothing aches and pains, improving blood circulation, and relieving tension all over the body.
