Cosy season is fast approaching which means it’s time to look at your autumnal home decor

The nights are drawing in, the leaves on the trees are changing colour and there is a crispness to the air. This is no time to mourn the summer however, it is time to embrace the autumn and the enjoyment it can bring. I for one enjoy a warm, cosy, living room, full of candles (battery powered as I can’t be trusted with actual flames!) a hot mug of something, while snuggling under a blanket on the sofa watching television. It’s a time for warm, rich hues, pumpkin picking, making memories with family and friends and, my favourite, Halloween! If you are like me, you take lots and lots of photos on days out. You might post them to social media but very often that is where they stay.

While you are updating your autumnal decor, why not personalise it with Canvas Prints

It’s a great excuse to have some of your autumn photos made into art that you can display for all to see. Photographs of your family and friends pumpkin picking make great canvas, or you could use photographs of landscapes or leaves and animals from nature walks. They are sure to put a smile on your face each evening when you snuggle on your sofa.

Canvas prints come in lots of different sized to suit your space, you can even create a gallery wall which have become very popular recently. Using different sized canvases you can create a great aesthetic, alternating photos of friends and family with landscapes and nature shots.

Other ideas to personalize your space this autumn

A home made wreath on your front door adds a personal touch for all to see. There are often wreath making workshops you can attend as a group, or you could make your own at home with the help of a YouTube tutorial. You can easily source the materials needed locally or online and you can have fun foraging for leaves and other autumnal materials for decoration, conkers and chestnuts are a firm favourite here.

Another way to update your outdoor space is with Autumnal blooms. There are lots of plants that add a touch of autumnal color to your outdoor space, a cheap option are pansies that spread quickly and add a cheery touch to planters and hanging baskets.

Turning our attention indoors, you can easily update your soft furnishings. Pop your summer cushions in storage and replace them with autumn colours and fabrics to warm up your room. Invest in a cosy throw for your sofa or you can even treat yourself to a personalised blanket from My-Picture.co.uk, imagine wrapping yourself in a photo of your friends, family or even pet on a chilly evening.

Let’s not forget Halloween!

We love Halloween in our house. I like to decorate both indoors and out and add to my Halloween decorations each year. Being thrifty I buy a few in the sales afterwards and store them away for the next year. I quite enjoy discovering the Halloween decorations I forgot I’d bought!

I have a stencil for the front window that I use snow spray on, it looks really spooky as it is a graveyard with ghosts. Last year I used cheesecloth on the front porch, I draped it across and hung bats from it, I was really pleased with it and the neighbourhood kids enjoyed it when they visited trick or treating.

I hope this gives you a few ideas for your autumnal decor this year, which is your favorite?
