Creating a Gallery Wall with Desenio

This is a collaborative post with Desenio

I make no secret of the fact I do not have an artistic eye. I know what I like but I find it hard to create, if that makes sense? When Desenio contacted me offering me a voucher to create gallery wall art I was a bit scared

Little did I know how easy it would be! In fact, the hardest part was choosing the prints to use. There are so many options, from photographs of famous people and cult figures to landscapes and abstract art. There are also prints from famous artists.

Desenio has a handy gallery wall tool which made choosing much more simple, I thought I would show you how easy it is to create a gallery wall using Desenio’s gallery wall tool

  • First of all go to www.desenio.co.uk
  • Click on GALLERY WALLS at the top of the page
  • Here you can choose a category, shop by room or view all

We chose Ocean Dreams for our bedroom. This includes 5 sea scapes and 3 quotes, neither of us are keen on quotes but this wasn’t an issue as you can simply click on the picture and “remove from gallery wall”.

The gallery wall artwork is supplied with suggested frames but these are also customisable. You can change the picture frame, the picture mount and add accessories. I also added picture hooks – I’ll tell you about these later!

Once you are happy with your selection you can add the gallery wall to your basket.

Receiving and installing your Desenio Gallery Wall

Everything you need arrives in one big box. The artwork is carefully packaged separately within the box, the frames contain plastic rather than glass which means they are light weight and won’t smash. The plastic has a film that needs to be peeled off and then the artwork placed in the frames. The clips on the back of the frame take a bit of a knack to open and close but once you’ve done a couple it gets easier.

Hanging your Desenio Gallery Wall artwork

As I said earlier I ordered picture hooks and I’m so glad I did. They were really easy to install, a few taps with a hammer and they were securely fastened to the wall. The best part about a gallery wall is it’s not supposed to be symmetrical so you don’t need to worry too much about where to hang them.

We chose a spot over the bed and I can’t believe how much they have changed the room. They really finish off the room.

I hope this post has helped allay any fears you may have about creating your own gallery wall, you really don’t have to have an artistic eye to make your home a beautiful space to live in.
