As the mornings got lighter our days began earlier, and earlier, and earlier. Having two young boys sleep is something of a luxury but it was getting worse as the mornings got lighter.
It wasn’t just them waking up early though, the light mornings and thin curtains meant I was waking at about 5am and struggling to get back to sleep.
Last year I was throwing a blanket over the window in an attempt to keep it dark enough to sleep. this was not practical and looked, frankly, crap.
Thankfully Make My Blinds came to our rescue!

Make My Blinds produce made to measure Roman, Roller, Venetian, Vertical, Skylight, Conservatory and Wooden blinds.
The blinds are are bespoke and are available in a variety of finishes, materials, colours and backing, including blackout and thermal.
I ordered three blinds, two Roman Blinds with blackout lining for our bedrooms and one Venetian blind for the kitchen
Our house is rented so I went for muted colours which match the current decor, that way we can leave them when we move out. If they were for my own house I would have opted for a pop of colour.

How to order your blinds from Make My Blinds
Ordering your blinds couldn’t be more simple. You measure the area in three places across and take the smallest measurement and again down. I repeated this several times as I wanted to be absolutely sure I had the correct measurements.
Once you have done that you input the measurements on their website and it does everything for you.
Installing your made to measure blinds from Make My Blinds
The blinds arrived within a week and came with all fixtures, but not screws. The instructions said that they needed to be installed by someone competent in DIY… That would be me then *cough*
I’ve put up shelves before, how hard could it be? Actually, between myself and Monsieur Incidental we did a bang up job and my measuring skills are on point. We even surprised ourselves.
Now our neighbours aren’t faced with us wandering around our kitchen in our nightclothes and we are getting a decent nights sleep!

What we thought of our made to measure blinds from Make My Blinds
The blinds are of a very high quality.
We were very impressed, all the finishes and pulling mechanisms are of a very high standard. I have to be honest I had no idea of what to expect when ordering blinds online but I was more than pleasantly surprised.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and would use them again in the future if and when we move.
