You can make your home more inspirational, merely by adding wall art
There is also no room in the house that wouldn’t benefit from wall art. Whatever your style there is something to suit every taste. Here are my favourites for each room:
The entrance hall
What better way to greet guests and to show off your sense of style than with some well placed artwork?
We are all huge rock music fans, this year has been very tough not being able to go to gigs or festivals but we can bring a taste of the music we are missing into our home by hanging a framed print of a rock star or two in our entrance hall. It’s not quite Glastonbury but it’s as close as we are going to get any time soon, I think.

The living room
For the living room I prefer something a bit more relaxing, a print of nature or wildlife is soothing while you wind down with a drink following a hectic day. Especially at the moment, bringing the outdoors in helps to unwind.
The home office or study
Maps look great in an office, along with inspirational prints of phrases or people. I think they help focus the mind and can spark all sorts of ideas. Looking at a great icon and thinking about all their achievements certainly help me put things in perspective.
In the kitchen
It has to be food or drink related! A cheery print of food, ingredients or a restaurant sign look fabulous in the kitchen. They put my culinary efforts to shame but hey, at least I try!
For the nursery
The amount of choice for the nursery is huge. From nursery rhymes, fairy tale art prints, Disney, animals. Babies really are spoilt for choice – although, let’s admit it they are more for our benefit really.
For the teens and tweens bedroom
Teens and tweens have reached an age where they want to make their space their own. They can do that by choosing their own style of artwork for their bedroom walls.
Our youngest is a huge superhero fan so some cool comic book super hero artwork would go down a treat with him. There are all sorts of superhero prints to choose from. From pop art style to a more modern take and movie posters.
Our eldest, being a Star Wars fan, would happily adorn his walls with Yoda or Darth Vader or something Nintendo related. I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across these cool Nintendo prints in watercolour.

In the main bedroom
For myself the bedroom is a place to relax and unwind. It is a safe haven where the troubles of the day should be left behind and so I like my wall art to reflect that. Artwork that promotes peace and tranquility is essential for me; it aids relaxation and inspires a restful sleep.
In the bathroom
It’s a cliche but I do like a relaxing print featuring water. The sea is always a good choice for the bathroom, I think most people find the idea of the sea relaxing. Slipping back into a nice warm bath looking at artwork featuring the sea is my idea of heaven.
