We were given tickets for the showing but all opinions are my own
Saturday mornings with children are very different to pre children. We were up, dressed and in the car at 9.15 to get to Showcase Cinemas, Bluewater for 10am. We had been invited to watch Nick Jr’s Big Screen Heroes: Take Flight featuring favourites Paw Patrol & Top Wing
The showing wasn’t until 11am but parking at Bluewater this close to Christmas can be dicey. Luckily we arrived early enough to stop at Krispy Kreme for a coffee (for the grown ups) and doughnuts for everyone. We then made our way to Showcase Cinemas.
We really like the Showcase cinema at Bluewater. The choice of film, price and comfort at Showcase Cinemas is second to none – especially if you choose the recliner seats, pure luxury and worth every penny! Also parking is free!
It’s also worth mentioning that film showings start quite early in the morning. Monsieur Incidental and I popped over for a day date last week after the school run. When you have kids you have to take every chance you can get!
I digress! Before the showing we bought a huge popcorn and large refillable drink combo. This is great value as you can refill your drink whenever you fancy during the day – we were given that tip by one of the cinema employees ages ago. The popcorn was large enough to see all four of us through the hour or so showing time.
We were lucky enough to experience the reclining seats as a family when we went to review Paw Patrol The Mighty Pups a few months ago so we knew the kids would be happy. The seats recline to your desired comfort at the touch of a button on the side of each chair. There is plenty of room in front for people to pass and no chance that someone in front will obstruct your view either.
Nick Junior Big Screen Heroes at Showcase Cinemas, Bluewater featured four Top Wing and 2 Paw Patrol episodes
Paw Patrol are the real heroes in our house, but Top Wing was more than tolerated. All the episodes had a flight theme hence Take Flight!
It always amazes me how Paw Patrol and Top Wing has the ability to keep toddlers and even older children quiet and in their seats for an hour or so. Helped, I am sure, by the fact that the seats are so comfy and people needing to leave for a toilet break isn’t too disruptive due to the extra space.
General prices for Showcase Cinema de Lux are:
Although prices for the XPlus screen are a bit more – but well worth it for the seats alone in my opinion.
There are 21 Showcase Cinemas nationallyFollow me on social media for more!
